Mainz 05 extend talented keeper Dahmen’s contract until 2020
Dahmen: “My future is here, and my goal is to one day play in the Bundesliga”
On Monday, Mainz 05 and Finn Dahmen reached a long-term agreement. Ahead of schedule, the 19-year-old keeper has extended his contract with the Zerofivers until 2020. Dahmen, who has been playing in national Germany youth teams since U15 level, is a true Mainz-grown talent, having joined the club as an U11.
Sporting director Rouven Schröder said, “Finn Dahmen has been developing well, and we are certain that this will continue. He belongs here with our squad, and we are very happy to have secured the services of another top talent from our Mainz goalkeeping academy.
Finn Dahmen said: “I have been in Bruchweg since 2008, making good developments and loving every year. Naturally, I am happy to have the security of knowing I will be spending the next few years here. This season, we have already seen what’s possible for young keepers at Mainz. To get there requires a lot of hard work, but that’s what I will be entirely focused on. My future is here, and, of course, my goal is to one day play in the Bundesliga.
